W Hotels launches W Chengdu

W Hotels Worldwide, a member of Marriott International, continues its expansion in China with the recent launch of W Chengdu in UNESCO’s first “City of Gastronomy” in Asia, which is renowned for its Sichuan cuisine. Owned by KWG Group Holdings, W Chengdu is situated within Chengdu’s Hi-Tech Industrial Development Zone.

Guests of W Chengdu can look forward to a comprehensive vacation planning by engaging a W Insider who can plan experiences that are off-the-beaten track and connect guests with the latest happenings in Chengdu, or if you simply want to visit the most popular joint for the legendary Sichuan hotpot, the W Insider is at your beck and call.

Inside W Chengdu’s lobby, dubbed the “Living Room”, an interactive LED virtual waterfall masterfully crafted by Japanese art collective teamLab, greets you as you enter the lobby. Chengdu’s mascot, the giant panda, also makes an appearance through a pair of svelte pandas sporting sunglasses rendered in fiberglass and a giant blue panda sculpture.

In terms of accommodation, W Chengdu comes with 297 resplendent guestrooms and suites, complete with a set of luxurious bath amenities from sustainable beauty brand DAVINES, made from natural eco-friendly ingredients in Parma, Italy. Customized panda cushions and teapots in each guestroom give expression to Chengdu’s local culture and story. W guests who demand the best can opt for the Extreme WOW Suite with 3,900 square feet of flexible space, including a sculptural bar and lounge area.

Guests can also luxuriate at Away Spa, which has three treatment rooms and uses luxe beauty brands Biologique Recherche, Comfort Zone and I Plus Q. For those who need to detox before they party on, W Chengdu’s Fit gym includes a spacious Pilates studio and indoor swimming pool and Jacuzzi. After relaxing, connoisseurs can also look forward to modern Cantonese and Sichuan cuisine at Yao Yen. Alternatively, Zing is an all-day dining venue serving fresh Southeast Asian flavours. Otherwise, Spark is a rooftop patio with panoramas that offer party packages for exciting events.

With the latest opening, W Chengdu is set to inject a dose of game-changing lifestyle elements and scintillating culinary offerings in southwest China.
