Hi-Bed: The Ultimate ‘Netflix and Chill’ Bed
While most tech companies are fearing for their survival in the midst of the COVID-19 pandemic, Netflix Inc. has become a real life saver for many people around the world who are being compelled to stay at home and in front of their televisions or tablets. In fact, with the virus raging out there and the endless stream of depressing social media barrage, there are just days when you simply do not wish to get out of bed.
Designed by creative Italian architect, Fabio Vinella who helms the design department at futuristic furniture brand, Hi-Interiors, the Hi-Bed is a revolutionary all-in-one bed/sofa/desk/movie theatre that makes you wish that the lockdown lasts just a bit longer. Equipped with an HD projector, 70-inch ‘theatre’ screen, built-in surround sound system and WiFi connection, you can enjoy the cinematic experience of binge-watching Netflix, Hulu or HBO Go from the comforts of your own home.
In addition to its stunning entertainment features, this bed is the epitome of smart technology in every way imaginable. The smart bed is loaded with state-of-the-art tech that gives users complete control over their sensory experience and readily adapts to their real-time desires. These features include dimmable lights, motorized blackout curtains, voice control, a “personalized concierge service” which will deliver information about a user’s daily schedule, weather and traffic every morning, and a built-in system which monitors users’ movements and adjusts the temperature to their preferred settings. For the health conscious, the bed is also fitted with biometric monitors that can track a user’s weight.
Hi-Interiors founders Ivan and Gianni Tallarico proudly articulated their vision in a press release, “We dream of a world in which our living space will listen to us more and more and will be the key to our well-being, becoming our next and ultimate walk-in smart device. We think that the space around us shall be our next smart device and we are working to enable it, regardless of whether we are at home, in the office or in a hotel, to take care of our well being and health in a completely contact less and effortless way.”
In a world which now prizes social distancing, staying at home, and lesser physical contact, the Hi-Bed might just be what you need to survive the COVID-19. The Hi-Bed will cost at least $13,800 and customers will have to pre-order it before its impending launch in the later part of 2020.
